John was an attorney in private practice in San Jose and then a professional legal writer before joining Thomson Reuters in 1995. He served in several editorial and management roles as an editor, manager, and director before joining the Witkin Legal Institute as a Co-Director in 2018. His areas of concentration include Trial, Contracts, and Taxation.

Sachi practiced law in San Francisco for four years and served as a legal editor for another publisher for four years before joining the Witkin Legal Institute in 2018. Her areas of concentration are Criminal Law, Pleading, and Juvenile Court Law.

June Hight

June began her career with Thomson Reuters as an attorney editor for California Trials Digest in 2007, where she quickly became a lead editor on the publication. She moved to the Witkin Legal Institute in 2017. Her areas of concentration are Criminal Law, Provisional Remedies, and Torts.

Ashley E. Hongisto

B.A. Johns Hopkins (International Studies)

Ashley practiced law in San Francisco before becoming a research attorney at the Santa Clara Superior Court in 2016. She joined the Witkin Legal Institute in 2018. Her areas of concentration are Criminal Law, Enforcement of Judgment, and Parent and Child.

Ronald L. Owens

Ron teamed up with Thomson Reuters in 2001, after more than a decade of employment as a legal writer/editor for another major publishing company. Here, before becoming a Witkin member in 2014, he worked on Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal decisions and Federal Case Law Headnotes. His areas of concentration include Attorneys, Criminal Law, Trial, and Corporations.

Sarah B. Pate

Before joining the Witkin Legal Institute in 2012, Sarah worked for 17 years as a legal editor with other publishers, including Bancroft-Whitney. Her Witkin areas of concentration are Criminal Law, Attorneys, Proceedings Without Trial, Workers’ Compensation, Partnership, and Corporations.

Jim practiced law in San Francisco before joining Bancroft-Whitney in 1985. He became a member of the Witkin Department in 1990, after previously working on legal publications including California Official Reports and California Codes. He has also served as an editorial manager. In the Witkin Department, his areas of concentration include Actions, Extraordinary Writs, Agency and Employment, Equity, Community Property, and Administrative Proceedings.

Lisa A. Wenger

Member, Colorado Bar

Lisa was hired by Bancroft-Whitney in 1990, and joined the Witkin Department in 1994. Her pre-Witkin experience included work on California Civil Practice, where she managed development of the environmental law module. Her areas of concentration include Criminal Law, Judgment, Attack on Judgment, Personal Property, Real Property, and Taxation.

Michael began his career at Bancroft-Whitney in 1989, and joined the Witkin Department in 2008.

Dale L. Dickson

B.S. William Jessup University (Business Administration)

Dale joined the Witkin Department in 1997. She coordinates the efforts of the Witkin support staff and is the liaison with manufacturing.

Linda I. Glover

B.A. Occidental College (English Literature)

Linda came to Bancroft-Whitney in 1986. For many years, she was the technical lead for the California Official Reports team. She worked on a variety of other California products before joining the Witkin Legal Institute in 2012.

Janet M. Mueller

B.A. University of California, Davis (English Literature)

Janet joined Thomson in 2006 and worked as a marketing coordinator for the Barclays team before joining the Witkin Legal Institute in 2012.

John Y. Pang

La Salle College (Hong Kong)

John joined the Witkin Department in 1997. He coordinates the preparation of tables for the Witkin treatises, and assists with computer coding and testing.
